When Nick Grams from Giorgio’s of Gramercy
signed up with a web site from Executive Dining Club he did not realize it but he needed a
web site in the worst way. Nick was
essentially running three businesses
from his restaurant with no online presence. He has a
successful dine in restaurant; a take-out and
delivery business; and a catering
enterprise that provides catering to some of New York City’s most prestigious firms. Three
weeks after meeting with EDC, Nick had a web site -

Today, to hear it in Nick’s
own words, “The site EDC has created for me has
made an
enormous impact on my business. For
my catering division, the site has boasted
business over 20%. Many of my clients
are pharmaceutical
reps that work odd hours and have
very limited access to menus. They
now have easy
access and
can order 24/7 and they do. At least
4 to 5 times a week we get catering orders in the middle of the night! We are now processing over $15,000 a month in catering
orders online.
“For my dine in customers, they can
visit the web site and see photos of
the food and décor as well as
all our menus plus our wine list.
They can get directions to the restaurant and they can
then make reservations 24/7 through an
online reservation company that
EDC has set up a link with. On weekends we don’t open until 6 pm so
allowing customers to make reservations
during this time period is hugely important
for us and
allows us to fill tables
that would otherwise be empty.”
“For my takeout
business, my menu is now available
online. We used to get calls daily from customers wanting
us to fax
the menu and we still get occasional calls but now we just refer them to the web site –
from there they can order online or
over the phone. Most of our customers now prefer the Internet since it saves all
their orders and makes it simple. Plus the restaurant can be
hectic at night – with all the background
noise placing
an order on the phone can
be a hassle
for both the person ordering and my
staff. In short, we are extremely
happy with EDC and the web site – it has
definitely impacted my bottom line and helped propel my business into the 21st century.
